Planned Parenthood to Push Agenda on Pittsburgh Students

America’s largest abortion provider is bringing its anti-life agenda to Pittsburgh schools.

On Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Public Schools board approved a memo of understanding Classroomwith Planned Parenthood to teach sex education to middle school students, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Several board members raised concerns about Planned Parenthood including its abortion practices and its history with eugenics, but the board approved the memo.

Though school administrators said abortion won’t be part of the curriculum taught in Pittsburgh schools, abortion is at the heart of Planned Parenthood’s agenda.

“Planned Parenthood’s bottom line is numbers. And, with abortion as its primary money-maker, that means implementing a quota,” said Abby Johnson, Planned Parenthood clinic director-turned pro-lifer.

Carol Everett, an abortion center manager who became pro-life, explains that abortion centers teach sex-ed in schools because it helps them create a bigger market for abortion:

“We had a whole plan that sold abortions and it was called sex education. Break down their natural modesty. Separate them from their parents and their values and become the sex expert in their lives so they’d turn to us. When we would give them a low dose birth control pill they would get pregnant on it, or a defective condom. Our goal was 3-5 abortions from every girl between the ages of 13 and 18.”

And when Planned Parenthood performs abortions on 94 percent of its pregnant customers, it’s pretty easy to see where its priorities are.

Wolf Is ‘1st Governor in History’ to Be a Planned Parenthood Escort

You can usually tell a lot about a person by the way they spend their time, and our new governor is no exception.

Gov. Tom Wolf

Gov. Tom Wolf

Since being elected, Wolf named a Planned Parenthood executive to his transition team and appointed a man who has been linked to Kermit Gosnell to his cabinet.

Recently, we learned that Wolf also used to volunteer for the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

Earlier this month, Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards proudly told a Pennsylvania group that Wolf is the “first governor in the history of this country who is also a former Planned Parenthood escort.”

For anyone who doesn’t know, Planned Parenthood escorts are volunteers who walk with patients from their car to the building, blocking them from pro-life sidewalk counselors. Escorts can be nasty, even abusive, toward pro-lifers and pushy toward the women they escort.

Their job is to prevent women from hearing about the other options and resources available for them and their baby. They don’t trust women to make their own decisions.

And that’s how our new governor, Tom Wolf, used to spend his free time.

We need to keep a close eye on Wolf to ensure that he doesn’t do in office what he did as a volunteer. Women deserve to know the full truth about abortion, their preborn baby, and the pregnancy and parenting resources available to them. Let’s hope that our new governor will have a change of heart and start trusting women with all the facts.

Reflecting on Abortion in Philly and Black History Month

By Carla Ezell
Southeast Regional Coordinator, ezell@paprolife.org

Black History Month is a celebration filled with music, dance, and bright colors. The nostalgia of remembering our mothers, fathers, aunts, and uncles who lived colorful lives comes to remembrance. We who are older tell our children and grandchildren about the great actors, mother_and_childwriters, doctors, lawyers, and inventors from the ‘30s and ‘40s who succeeded because they didn’t give up in the face of racism and negativity.

Four hundred years ago, blacks were treated as slaves with no human rights; but today through our hard work and determination, we are able to own a business of any kind and be a part of the political system that makes the laws of the land.

It has been a long journey, full of every imaginable emotion a man or woman can go through. Even though we have had so many accomplishments, we as so many other cultures have been fooled into thinking we can tell our young people it’s OK to kill a child in the womb.

As a Black culture, abortion in the past was not an option. We accepted the gift of a new child knowing the child may have been conceived illegitimately, even by incest or rape. It wasn’t the child’s fault. The child was welcomed as a blessing to the family.

Now we’re listening to organizations like Planned Parenthood and NARAL who promote abortion as a means to a better life. We’re fooled by Planned Parenthood celebrating Black History Month. The abortion giant never tells us that their founder, Margaret Sanger, was a eugenicist who believed people of color were inferior. Adolf Hitler admired her and structured the annihilation of the Jews according to Sanger’s teachings.

We are a culture that can keep secrets, but this is not the time for secrets. Our babies are being aborted at a higher rate than any other race in America. In my city of Philadelphia in 2013, the abortion count was over 15,000. No wonder the schools are closing. In the United States, more than 15 million Afro American children and 57 million children of all races are dead, and millions of women and men are walking around wounded.

Now, we’re going to be facing a bill in Pennsylvania that would legalize doctor-prescribed suicide. Seniors, the disabled, mentally and physically impaired will be targeted. Of course, the issue will be presented as humane; but in reality it’s cost efficient.

Unfortunately, we don’t know our power. We as Afro Americans have to take the time to call our leaders and tell them, we don’t want abortion or doctor-prescribed suicide.

We keep forgetting: Our leaders work for us.

Planned Parenthood Sells Abortion in 11 Pa. Communities

Over at the pro-life youth website Live Action News, there is a very informative article about the dangers of having a Planned Parenthood facility in your community.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America, and while not all their PlannedParenthood1facilities perform abortions, they all refer to and promote abortions.

Here in Pennsylvania, 11 of the 19 abortion facilities in our state are run by Planned Parenthood, according to the state Department of Health.

Planned Parenthood does not have a good reputation. According to the article:

“Planned Parenthood has been under government investigation for tax fraud. Corruption is widespread. Planned Parenthood takes over $1.4 million (yes, million) each day in our taxpayer dollars. And, every 90 seconds, they end the life of another baby through abortion.”

Undercover investigations have found Planned Parenthood covering up sexual abuse and lying to women, too. I encourage you to read the rest of the article here.

Behind Planned Parenthood’s catchy slogans and logos, the center of their business is abortion. They do not make their money offering women pregnancy and parenting resources or adoption referrals. Their money comes from abortion, and that’s what they sell to women.

We believe that there’s always a better option than abortion. That’s why there are about 200 pregnancy and parenting resource organizations across the state, dedicated to helping women and their babies. If someone you know is pregnant and needs help, click here.

To Be “for the People,” Gov. Wolf Should Break Ties with Abortion Industry

By Maria Gallagher
Legislative Director

As he takes the helm of state government, new Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is promising a “government that works.”

Pennsylvania: A Pro-Life StateIn order to make good on that pledge, he will have to show his independence from the abortion industry.

It’s a tough task, given the fact that the nation’s largest abortion operation, Planned Parenthood, served on his transition team.

In addition, the man he nominated for Secretary of State, Pedro Cortes, has been sharply criticized for his failure to put abortionist Kermit Gosnell out of business when he had a chance. The grand jury report in the Gosnell murder case cited several instances in which the Department of State, which Cortes previously headed, failed to take action following revelations of trouble at Gosnell’s facility. Gosnell is now in prison after being convicted of the deaths of three full-term infants and in connection with the death of a female patient.

At his low-key inauguration, Wolf also pledged a government for the people rather than the special interests. Again, it will be difficult for him to fulfill his pledge as long as he maintains close ties with the abortion industry.

Pennsylvania made tremendous progress during Governor Tom Corbett’s administration in terms of holding abortion businesses accountable. As a result of a law signed by Corbett, abortion facilities in Pennsylvania must abide by the safety standards of outpatient surgery centers. They must also be subject to regular inspections.
Pennsylvanians will need to keep a close eye on the Wolf Administration to ensure that enforcement of abortion regulations does not take a giant step backward. Women’s health and safety depend on it.

Wolf has also promised to be an unconventional governor. That would mean not following in the footsteps of previous Governors Tom Ridge and Ed Rendell, whose policies were governed by pro-abortion politics. Consider this assessment from the Gosnell grand jury, regarding the decision of pro-abortion governors to stop inspecting abortion centers: “Better to leave clinics to do as they pleased, even though, as Gosnell proved, that meant both women and babies would pay.”

Let’s not have a replay of Ridge-Rendell. Let’s challenge the new governor to safeguard women and children through aggressive enforcement of abortion center regulations. Only then will Pennsylvania really achieve a government that works.

Inspectors Find Unsanitary Conditions at Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia

Pennsylvania’s abortion center regulations are protecting women and holding abortion centers accountable to basic health and safety standards.

PlannedParenthood1A new report at LifeNews.com says state inspectors found unsanitary conditions, including ripped furniture and detached wall paneling, inside Planned Parenthood Northeast in Philadelphia this September.

Rips and tears may seem like minor issues, but in a health care setting, they can be extremely unsanitary. According to LifeNews.com:

“Because, unlike our homes, hospitals and doctor’s offices have serious concerns about the spread of disease. … This is particularly important when there is, shall we say, “bodily fluid spillage”.

… Once “fluids” are in, they stay. Unless a cloth chair can be steam cleaned on a moment’s notice, there is no way to guarantee it is clean for the next patient. … When there are rips in vinyl, fluids can leak into the stuffing, rendering the chair uncleanable.”

These are serious problems. We can’t just brush off a little rip here or a small tear there. A little tear could be contaminated with disease.

Abortion centers must be held accountable for the health and safety of their patients. It’s common sense. Our new laws are doing their job of protecting women from hazardous conditions inside abortion centers. We must keep working so that every preborn baby is guaranteed these same protections under the law.

Planned Parenthood Abortions — 3 Percent or 93 Percent?

Abortion advocates spin their deadly trade to make themselves look friendly and appealing. Even Planned Parenthood, our nation’s largest abortion provider, prefers to promote its other, non-abortion services to make itself look better.

PP3percentPlanned Parenthood claims that abortion makes up only 3 percent of its services, but Students for Life is calling out this deceptive abortion statistic in a new video. Watch here as Students for Life explains how the group manipulates its numbers to come up with 3 percent.

In the video, Students for Life breaks down Planned Parenthood’s annual report numbers and finds: Of all pregnant women who went to Planned Parenthood in 2012-2013, 93.78 percent had an abortion.

Planned Parenthood works hard and spends a lot of money (our tax dollars) to promote itself as a kind, caring women’s health organization. But its numbers point to Planned Parenthood’s true priority – abortion.

Planned Parenthood: Care. (About Abortion.) No Matter What.

Former Abortion Counselor Says Her Problem Was Misplaced Compassion for Women

Have you ever wondered, “Why, oh, why would someone ever work at an abortion center?”

Linda Couri, a former Planned Parenthood counselor, answers, “Good intentions.”

But, Couri says, “The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.”Mom-and-Child

I listened to Couri’s story a few days ago through LifeNews.com, and her honesty and candor impressed me. Her story is about an hour long, but it’s well worth watching here.

She talked about something I’ve long suspected about many of the people who work at abortion centers like Planned Parenthood. They have good intentions. They truly want to help women. But their compassion is misplaced (all for the woman, none for the baby).

Couri said she took a pay cut to work at Planned Parenthood, because she truly wanted to help women in difficult circumstances. When she met with women who were unexpectedly pregnant, afraid and unprepared for motherhood, she counseled them to abort. She thought it was the best option.

Only after a series of events did Couri realize the terrible mistake in her reasoning and its consequences. One day, a teenager asked if she was killing her child. Couri struggled to answer, but the question haunted her. Later, she began reading journal entries written by women as they were recovering from their abortions. Couri was shocked to find how distraught many of the women were.

And she wondered if abortion really helps women. She wondered how she could continue to justify killing preborn babies. When she realized the truth, she quit her job. Now she is a pro-life speaker.

I think it’s important that we really listen to pro-lifers like Couri because she helps us to understand why many abortion center workers and abortion advocates do what they do. If we work to listen and understand them, we can help encourage them to extend their compassion to both mother and child.

More Evidence that Candidate Tom Wolf Is Pro-Abortion

Tom Wolf, the millionaire candidate for governor, donates to America’s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood.

Wolf’s financial records from 2010 list donations to Planned Parenthood of Central PA, imagesaccording to this news report.

What did Wolf’s money support? In 2011, Planned Parenthood performed a record number of abortions: 333,964, according to its national report. Abortion made up 92 percent of Planned Parenthood’s pregnancy services, while prenatal care and adoption referrals made up only about 7 percent.

Wolf also received an endorsement from NARAL, which supports abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy.

It’s not difficult to see where Wolf’s priorities are.

New Bill Would Deny PA Women Information about Abortion Risks

By Maria Gallagher, Legislative Director

The abortion industry and its allies are lobbing another legislative weapon in their War on Women.

Women Have a Right to Know! The weapon of choice, in this case, is a deceptively named Pennsylvania bill called the “Patient Trust Act.”

House Bill 2303 is sponsored by known abortion advocate Rep. Dan Frankel (D-Allegheny County). The Senate version, Senate Bill 1456, is sponsored by a one-time pro-life legislator who is now running for Lieutenant Governor on a pro-abortion platform, Sen. Mike Stack (D-Philadelphia County).

The sponsors, who are being championed by a pro-abortion blog which partners with the nation’s largest abortion operation, Planned Parenthood, claim they are trying to rid politics from the doctor-patient relationship. But the legislation would do exactly the opposite — insert politics where it does not belong.

The bills state that health care practitioners should not be required to provide information to a patient that is not “medically accurate.” The legislation also says that the government should not require a health professional to perform a medical service that is not “evidence-based.”

Who could argue with that? Even pro-life legislators may be deceived into sponsoring it.

But the devil is in the details.

In their quest for legitimacy, the sponsors are pointing to a report by the National Partnership for Women & Families, which claims that a political agenda is “undermining women’s health care.”

One problem here. The group has a radically pro-abortion political agenda of its own. The organization—and the legislation’s sponsors—are upset with common sense protective laws that inform women about the risks of abortion. That is their real aim—to prevent women from obtaining critical information about abortion-related health risks.

And this points to the radical nature of the pro-abortion movement. They want to declare an information blackout in abortion facilities. They want to ignore scientifically-based research showing that abortion can increase a woman’s risk of sterility, substance abuse, depression, and premature delivery of subsequent babies. If a woman knows that, she might think twice about having an abortion—and that could hurt the abortion facilities’ bottom line.

Keeping women uninformed leaves them vulnerable—weak, rather than empowered. Beware of “patient trust” legislation which may be coming to your state. It’s not about good medicine. It’s about preventing the kinds of protective laws which can help women make sound health decisions that positively impact themselves and their families.
